Jarrett is here again today, and guess what? He got more stuff. One of the nurses gave him a stethoscope so he can play doctor to Matthew.
Matthew's port:
Bags of fluids being pumped into T:
Jarrett and Hannah built a fort:
This bag is the chemo therapy bag. He had to have a small test dose first to make sure that he didn't react badly to it. Then they gave him two bags of chemo, both different kinds. In this picture, one bag is the chemo, and the other is fluid to flush out his kidneys:
This is the nurse that gave him his treatment. All of the nurses there are so nice and patient with all of our questions:
Love the fort!!!! Jarret looks like a real doctor in his shirt and tie with his stethescope!
ReplyDeletei hope today's start to chemo went as smoothly as possible. our love and prayers are with matthew, and all your family.
ReplyDeleteI cannot even begin to express the feelings of love I have for your family Jenelle...I guess that is because you are my family too. I understand the impact that illness can have on the entire family and the shock that its unexpected severity can leave you in... But know this, this life is not an all or nothing deal. If anyone can take this pain and turn it into something beautiful, the faithful can. Matthew can, Susie can, Mike can, obviously, and this blog is evidence, YOU can. I was in the temple on Wednesday, and I carried you and your family in my heart and it was so very easy to do. There is so much love for you all in the O'Bannon household and I don't even know you as well as I'm gonna. I pray you don't get to sick of us in the ensuing months, but you started it. You see, and I'll end this the way i started it, you are part of our family experience. Because of you, we understand what family is and what it is supposed to be. No matter what happens, no matter what you may feel or how hard things get before they get better, and they will get better, one thing you should NEVER feel is unloved. It just ain't possible. Love always, always, always, Robin O'Bannon
